Description
Both of these two swords belonged to the castilian knight Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, known as “El Cid Campeador” in the 11th century. He was the model knight and loyal vassal who took part in the conquest of Toledo, with his king Alphonse VI . Subsequently, he conquered the city and kingdom of Valencia from the Moors. Tizona was his court sword, while Colada was for use in battle.
